Interview
I filled out an online application and about a week later received a phone call for an interview.
When I went to the interview I was greeted by a very kind lady. I could tell she really liked me. She informed me that they only hire for part time, but parttimers can get up to 39 hours per week. The interview was pretty informal, and the questions were easy to answer. She then showed me around the store and explained different jobs that I may end up doing. At the end of the interview I asked "when will I find out if I'm hired or not?" She said that after the interview she would call my references, and if they checked out I would be called back for a "2nd interview" which would be done in front of a few people (higher ups) and that it would go relatively quickly, and that I would know if I was hired or not "before you leave the store that day"
So I got a call back that evening after she checked with my references, and scheduled a 2nd interview for 1:30 the following day.
I get to the store for my 2nd interview (my car battery died so I was extremely stressed, but I still made it to the store 23 minutes before my scheduled interview)
I let the front desk ladies know who I was and they called to the back to let them know I was there. I then took a seat and waited.
For an hour.
Finally I overheard one of the desk ladies say, "did they forget that she's here???"
and they called back again.
10 minutes later the manager comes up to get me.
He apologized and informed me that he didn't even know there was supposed to be an interview.
We went to his office and he asked me some similar questions that the lady the day before had asked. He almost seemed like he wasn't even listening to my answers. Like he was really distracted.
He was also the only one there when I was told it would be a few, or a group of people.
This "2nd interview" laster a mere 5 minutes. I asked him "when will I know if I'm hired?" and he said maybe by the end of the week.
He also informed me that I wouldn't be getting any more than 30 hours a week.
So just by going to these two interviews I can tell that the store is poorly managed.
Two different people saying completely different things, and not evening knowing that there are interviews scheduled?? And seeming off in a daze while interviewing someone?
Just strange.
Not worth it to me for a minimum wage job with zero benefits and no chance for more than 30 hours.
I also informed him that I am going to college, and I would be very interested in getting my Business Admin degree and possibly working my way up in the company...
I'm not even sure he heard me say it. ?
It was just weird. I don't recommend this company at all for employment unless you're 16.

Interview
Applied for the job online. Received a call within 3 days and was asked to come in for an interview 3 days from then. On interview day I walked in and was handed another application to fill out (even though it was practically the same as the online one). When I was finished with it the hiring manager finally came over and took me to the back room for a one on one interview. In there, he reviewed my application and basically said I was over qualified and perfect for the job (not his exact words, but was implied). The whole process, from walking in to filling out another app and the interview took 35 minutes.
