I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Qualtrics (Provo, UT) in Jun 2015
Interview
Applied online, hr asked simple resume questions and set up google talk phone interview for me. 1st round is phone interview, it was great! Ask simple coding questions. 2nd round went to onsite, meet with three people and each one asked coding question, it wasn't hard. 3rd round talked with head of technical person, asked system design question, that was much more difficult! If you don't have such experiences, it's not easy to answer his questions. Later on, I found the last interviewer went to another company.....
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Qualtrics (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2015
Interview
Had one HR phone interview, and one round phone interview.
Then got four-round onsite interviews. People are friendly.
Mainly technical.
- Number of Islands
- Serialize and Deserialize
- Regular Expression
- Counting Sort
- Longest palindromic substring
It is strange that there is no design related question asked. Basically it will be helpful to nail the online OJ. However, if you really nailed the OJ, you will probably already get an offer in other big names. (Facebook, Google, etc)
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Qualtrics (Orem, UT) in Jan 2016
Interview
I had a phone interview a couple months after I applied. The developer interviewing me seemed to be busy doing something else during the interview. He asked about previous projects, motivations for software development, and basic computer science questions such as big O and comparisons of different data structures. After the phone interview I had an on-site interview where there were three in person interviews. They really pitched the start-up nature of the company. This seemed to include working long hours as one of the developers who interviewed me mentioned he works 8am-6pm with some late nights. The HR folks and developers ended up giving off a feel similar that of companies parodied on the show Silicon Valley, i.e. "we're changing the world with our cat pictures app", "disruptive technology", etc. While I didn't particularly care for their culture it was obvious they had very smart people working there.
