I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Qualcomm
Interview
Internal referral by a friend and then got a phone interview from a manager, he asked some questions over the phone and a week later, I got the onsite interview.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Qualcomm (San Diego, CA) in Oct 2018
Interview
This was, absolutely, the worst interview process I have ever experienced. The whole process was extremely confusing. They had me do a phone interview for one position (software engineer in 5G/LTE). That phone call was fine, they ask pretty specific questions, questions about C, nothing unreasonable though. Then, 2 days later, they had me do another phone interview, but for a totally different position (software engineer in 4G). I was somewhat confused by this but agreed to do it. This is where things got bad. The interviewer started the phone call sounding very unprepared. He clearly hadn't looked at my resume, asked me when I graduated. I said May. He then asked me, in a condescending way, why I was doing an internship right now if I had already graduated. This threw me off, but I kept my composure and simply told him I needed/wanted more experience before I got a full time job. The interviewer then proceeded to berate me with technical questions about things I knew nothing about (operating systems), and got frustrated and rude when I didn't know certain answers. I was trying my best but I actually had to end the phone call because I was in tears (yes, it was that bad). Then the company's HR reached out to me, telling me they wanted me to come for an on site interview, but that I needed to finish the phone interview first. So, they made me do a THIRD phone interview...but for a totally different position?!?!? It made no sense at all. Then after putting me through all this and being promised an on site interview, they email me 3 weeks later saying nevermind, we're not going any further. A gigantic waste of time, extremely unprofessional, and emotionally taxing. Definitely don't even waste your time.
