I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Sep 2011
Interview
Very brief, few questions with the DM and a dep store manager, and a work trial.
Phone call same day telling me they would take me on.
This was back in 2011 I understand the process is different now but similar idea. More training these days.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Redditch, England) in Jul 2015
Interview
Only got asked two questions, the interview lasted 10 minutes, as did the one before mine. I was only asked what I had done previously to applying for the role, and what I knew about Lidl. After that the manager started complaining to me about the store's longer opening hours. He didn't have a copy of my CV or any of my contact details, I had to write these down for him. Also I get the feeling there were meant to be two people interviewing me, he said his boss (perhaps the area manager) was running late.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lidl (Tondu, Wales) in Aug 2013
Interview
Applied online, after about a week I received a phone call to attend a trial hour at 6am- think this was a test in itself to to see who would bother to turn up. Basically had to restock an area of the shop as quickly as possible and have a chat to the manager etc. if you passed that you got invited to one on one interview with area manager. Wasn't much structure and was fairly informal as far as interviews went I got offered the job straight after the interview. Then I was called in for a group meeting with other new starters.
