      Program Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2021

      Interview

I was very excited to hear from the recruiter nearly 10 days after my application was submitted. Hubspot has been (and still is!) my dream company! Unfortunately, the initial phone interview began nearly 15 minutes late (of a 30-minute screening) due to a busy schedule on the recruiter's side - they were based in Dublin, I was based in the US/East Coast. I felt rushed through introductory questions and was not sure if I was being properly listened to as I provided previous experience and how it related to the current role; it quickly ended by me being asked for a salary range 2-3 times without knowing details on the day-to-day responsibilities of the role. One week later I received a generic email informing me I won't be moving onto next steps. The only feedback was that a more qualified candidates were more qualified. I'll certainly keep my eyes open more opportunities matching my profile/interests, and hope that future phone screenings give applicants a fair and full process to properly promote - and upsell - their skill set/cultural additions they could bring to the Hubspot team. Suggestion: Recruiters should simply reschedule an interview if they're going to be late; busy schedules are understandable, but not when it's beyond a 5 minute delay. As an applicant, we feel the sense of rush/urgency, and therefore, enter a different mindset when answering questions to be more precise, unable to give full context or supporting evidence to the potential value we could bring to the team.

      Question 1

      - What are you looking for in your next career? - What experience do you have/projects have you managed that would mirror into this role?

Sorry to hear you had this experience with us-our recruiters are unusually busy at the moment, but we can definitely ensure we own rescheduling or clarifying what we can do on our end, so thanks for flagging our way and mentioning HubSpot is your dream company, that means the world to us! -Katie

      Interview

Interview process had four rounds. Spoke to the person who would be my direct manager first, then to a peer who was currently covering the role being hired for, then to two more people, one from the recruitment team and one from a different functional team. They tell you the purpose of speaking to each person and what 'theme' of questions will be asked in the 30-min interviews.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Boston, MA) in May 2022

      Interview

Very hectic, chaotic and last minute. I was disappointed to learn how the different departments were not communicating and a last minute cancellations of a final interview on the last day. The recruiter was unprofessional, short and did not take accountability.

      Interview

Applied online for multiple roles and they didn't reach out until months later. The recruiter asked to schedule and then didn't even follow-up or provide a way to schedule. It's clear they are reaching out acting like they're considering candidates simply to collect the EEOC data. What a waste of time. I wish there was a BBB type of board where we could report these things. They will never get future consideration from me or referrals again.

No idea as the recruiter never scheduled the call.
