I applied online. I interviewed at HomeGoods (Stony Brook, NY) in Aug 2015
Interview
I applied through a 3rd party application site, received a phone call a couple days later asking for me to come in for an interview.
Interview was straight forward, was asked to fill out a paper application, then was asked basic questions by one of the managers, i.e. Why do you want to work here, have you ever been to this store, what skills or experience do you have
I then met with the store manager, was asked a few more questions before being told they would perform a background check and I would be called a few days later. got a phone call a day later saying i got the job and was scheduled for an orientation.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at HomeGoods in Dec 2015
Interview
Turn in application, call to check on application, get interview, be told you are not old enough. This was frustrating since my birthday and age were clearly on the application. I also asked how old you had to be to work at HomeGoods when I picked up the application and was told 16. I told them I was 15 but turning 16 by the end of the month and they said to apply - this came from a store manager.
I got called in for an interview which took about 15 min I believe. I had applied on Snag a Job first and got a call about 1 or 2 weeks later asking if I was still interested and if I'd like to come in for an interview.
