I applied online. I interviewed at Google in Jan 2019
Interview
Applied through the careers site. Got a coding round at first. Then a survey. Was contacted by a technical recruiter after 10 days to schedule a phone interview. There were two back to back 45 min phone interviews. Overall the process was smooth.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Sep 2018
Interview
— Drop in résumé (preferably at live event, or it will never get read)
— Two coding interview calls with engineers back-to-back, then reject or move on
— “Project Search” phase where they put your resume in an internal database and after 6-8 weeks someone might contact you or not
