3 coding interviews followed by informal conversations with different teams. The coding interviews were similar to those in programming competitions, with an emphasis on explaining your thought process well, not just writing code.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
You have an array a and you can ask the sum of a[n...m] or update position a[i]. Create a datastructure that does both efficiently.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (Boston, MA) in Feb 2022
Interview
Online Assessment with 2 questions (easy/med) and then back to back phone interviews. Two medium level questions, second one involved some design. They weren't difficult in naturek, however the interviewers add twists or ask thought provoking questions that make you rethink your algorithm. Overall really good interviewers and enjoyable experience.
I applied online, with a referral but got ghosted. The process at Google is very long so I may still hear back. Seems like they take months to reply to you at times, but for some people, it is within a couple of weeks. Luck of the draw iMO.
