This was by far the most unprofessional interview process I have experienced in the job market.
I had a phone screen with a recruiter, followed by a call with the hiring manager, and then an in-person interview. The whole process took about a week and I was offered the job with 48 hours to accept. I intended to accept the offer, but I had several questions for the recruiter; the cost of benefits were not stated, and the job title had changed to something completely different. I sent the recruiter an e-mail and she replied that she had forwarded my questions to the hiring manager and would get back to me with answers.
My questions went unanswered and after following-up with the recruiter I was told that the offer had expired. She could not give me a straight answer as to why my questions went unanswered, and I could only assume that she never forwarded them to the hiring manager in the first place. I attempted to call the hiring manager for the position and received no response. I sent him an e-mail stating that I had intended to accept the position, but had a few questions about the offer before signing. Again, no reply.
I am glad that I did not sign the offer letter, but I am disturbed by the unprofessional and shady nature exhibited by the recruiter and hiring manger, and upset that they wasted my time.
