Interview

Met recruiter at a conference. Got a call 2 weeks later for a phone interview by another recruiter. Then had an on-site at the Discover Campus in Illinois. Discover really takes care of you throughout the process. There is an evening reception the night before the super day- this is an opportunity to check what kind of projects interns have worked on in the past and which team you would fit into.

Question 1

The biggest focus is on culture fit and then technical skills. The super-day has a speed dating format where you have two 45 minute interviews with a rotating interviewer in the same room. General behavioral questions on how you manage several projects at the same time, describe a time you had a difficult stakeholder, why Discover. Technical questions on your past data based project. What variables did you use and why? Rate your SQL experience- then a couple query based questions. Overall a really solid process!

phone interview then two rounds of on campus interview. Each interview was 45 mins each. The interviewers were really nice. The campus is really nice and enjoyed my time there. We had a dinner the night before which was optional.
