I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Daikin (Mumbai) in Oct 2014
Interview
Very good interview with two Japanese people and an Indian Translator. There were 2 rounds. Resume and Cover letter based shortlist followed by an interview. The interview consisted of both technical and HR parts. the HR was mainly focused on my compatibility with Japan and whether I can survive there. The technical part is to gage one's ability as an engineer.

Question 1
What was your work in the team which you mentioned
Had an HR screening and then a panel interview. I talked about myself, and my resume. Along with this also why I like the company, and my background in engineering.
It was over phone and then we did an online assessment. The process was easy and they just asked past experience. The people were friendly and had no high expectations from the candidates. Overall easy entry.
The interview wasn't bad. Its based on what your department you are interning in. It usually has some HR people & some managers or directors from your area. Questions are fairly easy, not too technical.
