I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in May 2011
Interview
Contacted by phone by hiring manager for initial screening, then HR contacted for a full-on interview. Went to McLean for a day for a full day of interviews by peers and potential managers. Followed up rather quickly.
For the most part, the interview consisted of a behaviourial assessment, skills assessment and some case-study work. Be sure to study up on math-based case studies - Capital One has a consulting mindset - they are looking for people who would be best at McKinsey, Bain, Booz or BCG.

The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Capital One (Washington, DC) in Mar 2011
Interview
First I took a math test, reading test, and work habits test online. Second I had a case interview on campus. That went well. After that, they flew me to the D.C. HQ for more interviewing. They put me up the night before. On the interview day, I had two case interviews and a personality interview. They then asked me to do an extra case interview. I received no offer, even though it seemed to go well.
