I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Capital One
Interview
Started with an on campus inteview-one case interview lasting 30 minutes. Next step was on-site interview which consisted of 3 case interviews and 1 behavorial interview
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Tigard, OR) in Aug 2013
Interview
First call will set up a time for initial phone screening/interview, which will ask you basic questions about your history, they reall just wantto know if you are friendly over the phone. If you pass that one, you will get asked to get an in-person inteview. You can be interviewed by a large number of managers or higher ranked (I was by the VP of the site). They will ask 3 main behavioral questions and you are expected to answer by giving the situation, action, and result. My questions were 'Name a time you had to use a skill to solve a problem' '...a time you had to prioritize to meet a deadline' '...you had to deal with a difficult customer'. They will also ask you other miscellaneous questions "why capital one?" Make sure you mention anyone you know if you have friends or acquaintances there.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capital One (Irving, TX) in Jun 2011
Interview
Will give you two interviews, one is experience and situational. They ask you questions like "What would you do if a customer said ________."
Second interview was behavioral, asking questions like "Tell us about a time where you helped a fellow employee deal with an angry customer."
Most likely you will be interviewed by the branch manager, a non-involved manager (from another district just for unbiased perspective) and the district manager. Come clean and in business attire as this is what you will be expected to look like each day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The behavioral part of the interview was a bit tough. Try to flip the question in your favor. When they ask you something tough, answer in the most ethical way possible.
