I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Princeton, NJ) in Sep 2018
Interview
I applied online. I was scheduled one on-campus super day. There were three sections. First was behavioral, second was a case study interview, and finally a technical interview consisting of one design and two coding questions.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to explain a technical concept to a non-technical person.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Toronto, ON) in Sep 2018
Interview
An over-the-phone interview followed by a hackerrank style test, followed by an in-person interview including a technical showcase where we're asked to present some of our best work and then a behavioural test asking us about challenges we've faced and how we overcame them.
Very positive experience and the recruiters at this company actually care about making personal connections with the candidates and being involved in their career journey outside the actual offer.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Capital One (New York, NY) in Sep 2018
Interview
Was referred by a previous boss
Started with a phone call from recruiter explaining culture and job specs.
Then did a phone technical interview with a senior manager I had a great convo with him.
Then a 6 hour in person interview with 1 hour lunch break. I had a behavioral, case interview and 2 technical interviews.
All went well and actually the reason why I’m writing this review is I was getting an offer till they submitted my app and they knew I didn’t have a degree but my 3+ experience made it through all the interview questions and everyone loved me according to the recruiter plus I was a referral.
But they could not give me the offer because of corporate structure. Capital one is a bank but they pride them selves on being more of a tech company. If google and Facebook hire non degree employees why can’t you ?
Long story short I loved everyone that I interviewed with and enjoyed the whole process and was looking forward to joining the team. I’m just very sad that was blocked by old mentality and old corporate bank structure.
