Hiring process was clearly explained by the recruiter. I made it to both peer and hiring manager interview. After a reasonable amount of follow ups, I never heard anything from them. I was totally ghosted, which confirms with what I heard from whom I knew who were also have the same experience with ByteDance.

I went to multiple SRE interviews for different roles. My experience with non-Chinese interviews was excellent and fun as English is my main language. Chinese interviews are tough as using Chinese technology terms is not easy. It seems like most SRE roles here want to hire people who are good at Chinese so be prepared unless you are lucky enough to have the interviews in English.

Three rounds. The first two are research+coding. The third one is casual talk with hiring managers. Technical questions are not that easy but not hard either. It takes about 20 minutes to answer the questions.
