      Coordinator Hotels Interview

      Oct 15, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Booking.com

      Interview

Unprofessional recruiter, first had a phone interview where the recruiter seemed as if she was nervous as she was talking very fast and could tell English was not her first language. Asked me how old I was and routine questions, nothing unoriginal but felt very robotic and routine-like. It was as if she was reading through a list while filling slots on a database to get my personal information (such as birth date). At the end after about 30 minutes, she asked for my availability for next interview. We agreed on a Monday and she said it would be between a certain time but did not say the exact time. I assumed she would have to ask the manager for the time and would get back to me. However it took 3 days. Plus I get a phone call on a holiday asking if I am available on a different day, even though we already had agreed it to be on Monday on the phone prior. She said the manager preferred another day, I said I was not available another day as I have told her before, she said then maybe she can change it back to Monday. How disorganized and wishy washy is that?! So I declined the interview offer, the recruiter got very mad and quickly hung up the phone before I could. That really showed her true colors. Very rude and unprofessional. All in all, the recruiter was lacking professional communication skills. It was clear that she was not organized nor professional. After finding this out, I declined the interview offer as this experience showed me how disorganized and unprofessional the company's HR is and I refuse to work in a company such as that. Recruiters give job candidates the first impression of the company and I learnt to choose wisely of where I invest my time working.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How has your major in university helped you on the job? (Note: I graduated more than 6 years ago...) I thought this was odd as I would assume the recruiter would usually focus more on the current and past work experiences. I felt as if I was being interviewed as a new university graduate.

      Hotel Coordinator Interview

      Anonymous employee
      Rom
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Booking.com (Rom) in Apr 2017

      Interview

The assessment wasn't too long. At the beginning the manger and the team leader for whom we should work presented us the company, then you have to shortly present your self in front of the other candidates. After the presentation there is a group role play, not difficult, it's just to understand if you can work in a team and collaborate with your colleagues, after the group one, they take you in another room for the individual role play, they ask you to explain something to one of your partner. At the end they told us that they knew who fitted the role and who didn't, and that they had doubts about some of the candidates, those are invited to a personal interview and the other could go home at that point.

      Question 1

It was a very easy interview, and I didn' t need the personal one.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Booking.com in May 2016

      Interview

First of all I submitted my CV through Booking.com website. After almost two month, I received an email from the HR department based in Amsterdam in order to arrange a call meeting with the interviewer. So I made the first interview by phone, in English, and then my application was reviewed and I received a call to arrange the interview at Booking.com office here. I made the interview at their offices and I received a call and they explained me their offer. The entire process was very quickly (apart the timing between the website application and the first interaction by email).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interviewers were so kind, and made me feel very comfortable. At the beginning, they introduced themseves, and explained me the work, tasks, and about the society. Then I talked about my actual work, my task, strengths.. Some questions were: -Why do you apply for that work here in Booking.com? -What challenges do you face in your daily work? -If you could change one thing in Booking.com website, what would it be? And we also made a "role playing game" in my native language, I had to convince a partner structure to sell us all the hotel rooms in a high season period.
