I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Apple (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2019
Interview
Go to San Francisco, to the intervios. there were a lot of interviews with different people.
All people were very kind and the questions were easy to answer. Like tik tak toe
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Cupertino, CA) in Jan 2020
Interview
Applied through their jobs site and was contacted by a recruiter after 2 weeks for 2 Interviews.
The recruiters and interviewers were very nice but quite disorganized. I was told my first interview would be technical but it was actually a standard phone screening for culture/role fit. Then the recruiters changed and the second interview was scheduled without informing/confirming with me. They apologized and rescheduled, confirming the day of the interview, and I was then told by the recruiter that this would be a "high level" technical interview and didn't need a coderpad link. However, the interviewer (who was filling in for a team member) told me that this wasn't the case and conducted a tough coding challenge that I failed.
I chose a negative experience despite no resentment to anyone involved but because I ultimately felt like I was setup to fail through lack of communication between the team and recruiters. I wasted time by first over preparing for the wrong type of interview and then under preparing for a technical interview that was tougher than what is standard, especially for over the phone.

Interview
Recruiter screen: phone call
Screen by team lead: mine was on-site but typically this is a phone call or Skype
On-site: one dev, one lead, one dev manager and lunch with people on the team I'd work with
Each on-site meeting was 45-1 hour
It was all pretty chill, I talked about some projects I had worked on, talked through tech choices I had chosen on said projects and demoed some of my work.
