I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon in Jan 2026
Interview
I applied online and after taking the OA, a recruiter emailed me that I had an incline score and they wanted to interview me. In the email, I was sent a lot of information about how to prepare for the interview including links to articles and videos. I spent a lot of time prepping for this interview. Based on the email, and the role I was applying for, I expected a high level and engaged interview. But the hiring manager didn't ask any follow up or clarifying questions. At one point there was a long awkward pause after I answered a question, I said "Hello" because I thought the call had dropped. They said, "I am just typing my notes"....it was a really disappointing experience. I felt the two page email I received from the recruiter had indicated high expectations but the casual and disengaged attitude of the hiring manager did not match that. I withdrew my candidacy from the job after the interview.
