I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
Have only been through the phone interview process. The recruiter provided a lot of helpful information to prepare for the interviewer. Amazon leadership principles were highlighted as important but the kinds of questions the interviewer asked seemed less relevant to the principles.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you were faced with something that seemed impossible but you were able to fulfill the requirements?
Tell me about a time you had a tight deadline how did you approach meeting that deadline?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Jan 2021
Interview
After two phone screenings, I got an invitation to a virtual day-long interview with 5 employees. Some of the interviews where more technical than others, but all of them asked questions based on the Leadership Principles. I think at some point I got the same Leadership Principles question from two interviewers, so it would be important to read the principles very carefully and craft multiple stories pertaining to each principle.
I did not get the offer due to my lack of technical skills according to my recruiter, while they told me that my linguistic knowledge was sufficient and I displayed behaviors in line with the Leadership Principles.
