I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Jan 2021
Interview
Applied online recruiter reached out with preliminary questions and setup a 1:1 with the hiring manager and then a series of amazon interviews focused on their leadership principles...eventually I got the offer but they lowballed me so bad that it was embarrassing. I declined the offer since I had other offers. The arrogance from the recruiters and the hiring manager is unbelievable.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon (Santa Barbara, CA) in Sep 2020
Interview
The interview process was not personal and super intense. Most of the people on the panel were low EQ instead of high EQ. So if you are looking to get a ton of experience, I recommend trying it.
Set of 5-6 interviews with PMs and a lead engineer. Some interviews focused on behavioral questions, some about my background, and others about Amazon's business and how I would develop a particular product.
