I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in May 2025
Interview
I applied for the role online and was invited to take an online assessment. There was no prior interaction with a recruiter or HR, which felt impersonal. The assessment itself consisted of two coding problems (one LeetCode medium, one LeetCode hard), along with behavioral and system design questions. The difficulty level was fair, and I appreciated the challenge.
After clearing the assessment, I was moved to the video interview stage. Unfortunately, this part of the process was very disappointing. The interviewer did not give me a chance to introduce myself. She immediately presented a coding question and instructed me to read it without saying anything else.
When I attempted to discuss and clarify the problem, her responses were curt and dismissive, and she appeared visibly annoyed. The lack of engagement and the interviewer’s attitude made the interaction very uncomfortable. It affected my confidence and motivation during the interview.
Overall, while the initial assessment was structured well, the interview lacked basic professionalism and courtesy. Interviewers are a reflection of the company culture, and this experience made me question whether this would be a healthy work environment. I hope the company reviews this feedback and ensures a more respectful and constructive interview process in the future.
Advice to Management:
Ensure interviewers are trained not just in technical evaluation but also in interpersonal communication. A welcoming and respectful interview experience can make a big difference in attracting top talent.
I received an Online Assessment (OA) invitation from Amazon. The assessment consisted of two coding questions of medium to hard difficulty, focusing on data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving skills. The questions required efficient solutions with optimized time and space complexity. After the OA, shortlisted candidates typically proceed to one or more technical interview rounds covering coding, system design, and behavioral questions based on Amazon's Leadership Principles.
Applied online via career site, received OA link within 2 days and cleared it, Round 1- DSA, Round-2 DSA, Round 3- System Design, Round 4- Mixed Technical Discussion and Behavioral.
