I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Mar 2016
Interview
Got a recruitment email, responded, then got a general job description. Everyone I talked to from the start up until now has been exceptionally awesome to talk to.
The first recruiter did an initial "hello" phone call. A second recruiter did the same with more details.
I was scheduled for a screening call with a dev manager. Got my background and what I was looking for. It was mostly probing for general fit.
I got scheduled for a second phone screen, more technical and definitely more intense. Asking questions I should know if what I was claiming on my resume was true. So embellishing on your resume would definitely be called out here.
Then I got the call to schedule the fly over to Seattle. I just finished my interview loop. I'm very exhausted. But they've all been through it so they know how you feel. They definitely ask deep insightful questions that you really can't "wing-it". You either are who you say you are or your not a good fit so its better to just be yourself and go with your gut.
The one thing I will say is this is the most absolutely positive interviewee experience I've ever been through. Regardless of the outcome. You feel like a customer being served well. I talked to Google, LinkedIn, and a few others and the process is humiliating. Amazon's recruiting practice is way better.
I'm awaiting my verdict, I'm excited to join this company and from what I've seen and experienced today I would probably be very happy. So wish me luck.
Update: didn't get an offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Nothing worth writing home about. If you are a TPM type person you will have gone through PM pain, technical pain, and business pain.
El proceso es largo, en total son en promedio 7 entrevistas, de las cuales 5 son en loop, lo que significa que estas 5 entrevistas pueden ser el mismo dia, una tras otra, de una hora cada una
Followed the same Amazon process intial meeting with a recruiter, then multiple rounds with various team members, and the hiring manager. They use the STAR method or variations to answer with the situation, the challenge you faced, then the actions you take, and the result. If you don't use that format, you will not get positive feedback from the interviewer.

Question 1
Questions around handling difficult situations or how to handle disagreements within the team were a common theme.
I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2026
Interview
Recruiter screening friendly. Consistently great experiences with recruiters. Got HM interview but HM didn't do the interview. Guy who did lacked the background to assess my background in AI/ML. Amazon is now kicking people out of ATS for 6 months for related roles if you don't progress.
