The procedure with Amazon was probably the most unpleasant interview experience in my career.
I had a first interview and I was rejected in a follow up email.
Then a few days later I received an invitation "we are excited to speak to you".
I asked for some clarification but the first recruiter did not reply.
What happened with the 14 leadership principles of Amazon here?
Nevertheless, I accepted the interview.
The second interviewer kept interrupting, interrogating and when questioned about this behaviour the answer was simply "I want to understand".
Using the Amazon brand to justify such treatment of a potential colleague is unacceptable.
The whole process was very one sided, I hardly had any time to ask questions.
And whatever I asked he did not understand.
It shows me a robotic mindset who cannot think outside the box.
A very cold, ineffective way of assessing the potential of a candidate.
It completely lacked the humanity that makes me wonder if you want to work with such people.
I am very happy that I don't.
