Pros

Salary is above market rate, although they are smart with the stock options and you have to stay a year at least to cash in some of the shares (a way of keeping people on board who would otherwise leave even before a year)

Cons

Extremely stressful and demanding job, long hours include more weekends than they should, continuous shortage of staff due to recruitment can't keep up with the growth of customer base, not compatible with family life at all, and burns you out fast. Some teams have less pressure than others, and people do not tend to stick around very long in the teams where the pressure and stress is the worst. The management refuses requests of moving teams internally unless someone is already working there for 1.5 years on average (long time to stick around if someone is burning out). Despite opening up locations internationally, they do not promote/allow transfer to other locations. Possibility for any sort of promotion is very restricted, they prefer that people stick around in their role for years, no matter how good they are (at least in Europe this is the situation).

Pros

Service Now is a place where you are empowered to make thing happen. I don't have to ask for permission; I am trusted to make most decisions on my own. I am allowed, expected even, to make mistakes. (But not big ones, nor make the same mistake over and over.) That, combined with a refreshing lack of overhead and bureaucracy, make me feel like I can make a difference every day. And the speed the company moves at allows me to see the impact of my actions almost immediately. I have found their base base and benefits to be competitive. And contrary to others reviews I have read, I have gotten well ABOVE my target bonus almost every quarter. But to be clear not everyone does and it certainly not guaranteed. Part of the culture is pay for performance. Do a great job and get a great bonus. Do a poor job and get a poor bonus. I really like this as it helps to ensure that only high performers stay at the company and I enjoy working with the best!

Cons

This probably the toughest job I have ever had. The challenges of maintaining the rocket-ship trajectory growth-rate are ... well... hard and sometimes daunting, to say the least. And the 24x7 world of a SAAS company makes it hard to unplug.
