Pros
Low accountability. Seltzers and coffee at the office.
Cons
Uninspiring leadership, corporate bloat, and a culture of inaction and aversion to learning. Product managers and engineering managers micromanaging implementation details.
Engineering standards are all over the place. No unified architecture, no cohesive vision. E.g., half of the "principal" engs want microservices, the other half want a monolith. The platform team is abrasive and snarky while lacking real experience in their technology. Infrastructure and tooling are awful. RTO, but "site leads" come to the office once every other month. We had a gnat infestation last for months, despite constant escalations to the site lead. I had experiences where I could not finish a single sentence without being interrupted by the org director, and almost every single concern or idea I brought up was dismissed or shut down. When the forewarned issues arrived, the IC is written as the one who did not deliver the commitments.
