Pros

very fun culture. work environment is lay back. work-life balance is good. compensation is alright, i'd expect either a little more considering this space is very competitive right now.

Cons

compensation can be improved to stay competitive or the company will lose the competitiveness on hiring talent people and lose existing talent engineers. perks can be improved too, free lunch would be nice.

Thanks for your review. I'll copy and paste the response I just wrote for another review: Since you wrote your review, we have hired directly or through acquisition another 1000 employees. While some people did say we hired a lot of VPs and brought in new leadership at different levels, at these growth rates, it seems that it was the right call. We have tried to bring people in with a fresh perspective and who know how to scale and manage large, global teams. It's like we buy pants that are two sizes too big and then find them just the right size one year later. Regarding compensation and recognition for engineers, please speak with Michael Erisman. he joined about 6 months ago and is focusing on this among other initiatives. He is quite supportive of focusing on engineers. I think you will find him open to your suggestions.

Pros

Some of the people are very nice, but constantly over-worked. The same small pool of people seem to do all the work.

Cons

Lack of respect for employees, too many undeserving VPs, no diversity, low pay, inappropriate derogatory & personal comments made to employees by management.

I am very sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience here. Since you have joined, we have brought in more seasoned executives including on our HR team. Inappropriate derogatory comments are absolutely unacceptable. Should anybody reading this at DocuSign experience comments like that , please contact either Reggie Davis or Michael Erisman so that we can put an end to that behavior immediately.

Worst company I have ever worked for

Pros

There are honestly some good people who work here and they make it worth it.

Cons

Read the early reviews, they are true. I feel like the most recent and current reviews are written by the HR department. This company only cares about themselves and not the employees that work for it. The people who care will be jaded fast. Every two days you will see a new VP email of the usual demographic and never of any diversity or a woman. It is a 650+ company that is ran like a 10 person start up. No room for growth, hard to move around within the company...all about politics.

I can promise you (cross my heart, hope to die ...) that nobody in HR writes false reviews. That is not the way we roll. We genuinely care about the team. As our CEO says, the team is our most important asset. It is our "strategy offensive weapon". Since you wrote this review, we have added about 1000 employees both organically and through acquisition (Brazil, Israel, France, small SF based acquit-hire). Upon reflection, it seems like a wise call that we brought in seasoned leaders who know how to scale. We have brought in a couple great women recently including Catherine Courage. But like most tech companies -- especially in enterprise -- we could benefit from more diversity across gender, race, age, sexual orientation. Everything because our product serves everybody. It is in our financial interest to build a more diverse workforce. I myself have recommended a couple of hires (got a nice cash reward for one "diverse" hire). So I would encourage you to scan the list of open reqs and refer diverse candidates. Employee referrals are often the best hires as they get in groove faster and stay longer with the company.
