Applied Materials has competitive salaries and good benefits. One can take pride in working for a latge company that constatnly gives back to the community, You have room for advancement if you are willing to go above and beyond your normal job responsibilioties.

Cons

Applied Materials business is very cyclical and lay offs are inevitable and happen often enough for a feeling of insecurity. You are never sure if you will be next on the chopping block.

good work life balance ifyou are on the right team, else make it difficult and u need to highlight if u r working long hrs

Cons

if u r not careful the work like balance is not always highlighted by management and they will let you work long hrs and u r not always compensated for the items achieved

Good company if you like to travel. R&D is still pretty intense and one can learn alot during the fast paced environment.

Cons

Personnel turnover is very high. Never fealt secure in jobs due to frequent rumours of layoffs that usually came true.
