Beam is a Berlin-based startup company builder backed by BEUMER Group — a family-owned, global intralogistics company with over 85 years of history. We offer pre-seed funding, access to real B2B customers, hands-on launch support, and — above all — pre-validated business opportunities for those ready to co-found a startup.

We are searching for experienced professionals — from corporate strategy, consulting, operations, industrial tech, or adjacent sectors — who are ready to take the leap into entrepreneurship. You don’t need to have founded a company before. You need to have the drive, the discipline, and the domain curiosity to do it now.

The opportunity

We don’t hand you a solution. We hand you a pre-validated problem — sourced from over 50 opportunities we research annually, filtered through strict commercial and strategic criteria. You choose the one that excites you most. Then you validate it, shape it, and build a company around it.

Our current problem spaces span airport baggage systems, circular logistics, inflight retail, mining equipment maintenance, used industrial equipment marketplaces, regulatory compliance automation, and more. New problems are added regularly.

Your goal: launch a high-potential software startup in the logistics and industrial technology space, leveraging BEUMER Group’s customer base, domain expertise, and market access as your unfair advantage.

What the journey looks like

This is an 18-month validation journey divided into 5 phases:

• Insights (Months 1–2): Deep-dive research, 25+ expert interviews, problem validation
• Problem-Solution Hypothesis (Months 3–4): Build a product vision, find a tech co-founder, secure 2 pilot commitments
• Company Idea & Product Validation (Months 5–8): Launch MVP with customers, collect LOIs, write a business plan
• Board Pitch (Month 9): Present your investment case to Beam and BEUMER Group leadership
• Launch a Minimum Viable Company (Months 10–18): Incorporate, hire, convert pilots into paying contracts, scale

At each gate, we assess progress together. Not every validation leads to a startup — and that’s by design. We’d rather kill a weak idea early than let you waste years on something that won’t work.

We want to speak to anyone who meets these criteria

• You have 5+ years of professional experience in corporate environments — consulting, strategy, operations, engineering, product management, or industrial technology.
• You are committed to launching a startup. This is not a side project. This is a path to becoming a co-founder.
• You are confident in your ability to understand complex issues, with high curiosity and initiative to discover more of what you don’t know.
• You can identify a clear company vision and market opportunity and are prepared to defend it with data — rigorously.
• You communicate complex information simply and think clearly without needing to dominate.
• You have a personable style and find ways to relate to others.
• You thrive in ambiguity. You find hacks to move faster, do your homework, and go the extra mile to find the opportunity your competitors will miss.
• You have an internal compass of your ethics and values that drives your working style and decisions.
• You are business fluent in English (and, in best cases, German).

What Beam offers

• €4,000/month (gross) so you can focus fully on your validation.
• Co-founder equity — we think long-term and want our founders’ motivation to be rock solid.
• Solid funding: if your startup reaches go-to-market, our funding committee secures the runway you need — minimum 18 months after every round.
• Active support in finding suitable co-founders for your venture.
• Access to our network of experts, advisors, and mentors across logistics, technology, and business building.
• A home base at our Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg offices alongside other Founding Leads and startup teams.

Why should you not choose Beam?

• Beam won’t suit active students — this is more than a full-time job and needs full attention.
• Beam is based in Berlin, on-site 3 days per week (remote 2 days).
• If you’re looking for a comfortable corporate job with predictable outcomes, this isn’t it. Over 80% of candidates are offboarded before the end of our program. The bar is high. Deliberately.
