What is the Opportunity?

Aecon’s Civil East sector is a cornerstone of our construction and infrastructure operations, delivering innovative solutions to some of the most complex and impactful projects globally. Renowned for its expertise in heavy civil construction, our Civil East sector specializes in building essential infrastructure that powers economies and enhances communities.

Our portfolio features cutting-edge work on bridges, highways, tunnels, and airports to name a few! In the Caribbean region, we are leveraging our expertise and collaborative approach to deliver world-class infrastructure projects tailored to meet the unique needs of the island communities.

The Procurement Manager will work closely with project, engineering, construction, finance teams, and external partners to define and execute the overall procurement strategy for the project.

What You’ll Do Here:
Maintain the exisiting project procurement strategy, aligned with cost, schedule, quality, and risk management objectives.
Ensure governance and alignment of procurement, logistics, and purchasing practices on the project.
Manage all project logistics activities relating to procurement expediting, shipping, customs, clearance, warehousing, material handling and distribution to site.
Coordinate international and local transportation of materials, equipment, and plant to ensure timelu delivery in line with construction programme and procurement schedules.
Oversee off-site warehouse and storage operations, including material receiving, inspection, inventory control, preservation, secutiy and distribution planning.
Work closely with the Commercial Manager, procurement team and construction team to mitigate risks relating to long lead materials, shipping delays, storage limitations, and supply chain disruptions.
Oversee all procurement disciplines including, purchasing, materials management, expediting, logistics, and supplier performance.
Lead the development and execution of project-specific procurement plans in collaboration with Project, Operations, Legal, and Project Controls teams.
Drive financial performance initiatives including cost optimization, value creation, savings tracking, and working capital management.
Ensure ethical and contractual compliance of procurement activities, including internal policies, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards.
Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by providing insights, performance metrics, and recommendations.
Lead, develop, and manage procurement and logistic teams, including resource planning, talent development, and performance management.
Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, and operational excellence across teams and projects.

What You’ll bring to the Team:
10+ years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, contracts, or logistics, including several years in a senior leadership role.
University degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience on major construction, infrastructure, or complex industrial projects.
Strong understanding of technical, contractual, and financial aspects of large-scale projects.
Advanced expertise in strategic negotiations, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
Excellent leadership, influence, and executive communication skills.
Strong strategic mindset with proven execution capabilities.
Solid financial, commercial, and risk analysis skills.
Proficiency with procurement systems such as SAP and Procore
Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
Experience in civil infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
