Unser Sample Management Solutions (SMS) Team sucht nach Verstärkung für unser Field Service Engineering Team!

Als Field Service Engineer stellen Sie routinemäßige oder auch kurzfristige technische Services bei unseren Kunden vor Ort sicher. Dazu gehört die Installation, Upgrades, Reparaturen und vorbeugende Wartung usw. von Azenta-Anlagen und -Geräten.

Sie werden die Möglichkeit haben, mit fortschrittlichen Technologien zu arbeiten, insbesondere in Umgebungen mit niedrigen Temperaturen, wie z. B. automatisierte Lagersysteme, Transportroboter usw.. Darüber hinaus sind Sie für eine Vielzahl von unterschiedlichen industriellen und biowissenschaftlichen Geräten verantwortlich, von Automatisierungsgeräten und Verbrauchsmaterialien über Flüssigstickstoff-Lagersysteme bis hin zu Ultratiefkühlgeräten und Entfeuchtungssystemen.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Lösung von Kundenproblemen und Einhaltung unserer Service-Vereinbarungen an den einzelnen Kundenstandorten/ Gebieten in Deutschland oder dem europäischen Ausland.

• Durchführung von Wartungsarbeiten an Geräten und Systemen, einschließlich Software- und Hardwareinstallation, Upgrades, Diagnose, Reparaturen und vorbeugende Wartung.

• Analysieren von Problemen, Untersuchen und Melden von Grundursachen/ Korrekturmaßnahmen und Überwachen der Systemleistung.

• Betriebsunterstützung für vom Kunden verwaltete Proben (z. B. Unterstützung bei der Einlagerung von Proben und bei der Umstellung von nicht automatisierten auf automatisierte Anlagen).

• Kommunikation und Zusammenarbeit mit globalen Teams bei der Bearbeitung von Aufgaben.

• Erstellung und Vorlage von Berichten, wie z. B. Service- und Statusberichten.

• Gelegentlich Notfallreaktionen auf Ausfälle von Anlagen/ Produktionslinien oder im Falle von Eskalationen.

• Instandhaltung von Leihgeräten.

• Unterstützung bei organisatorischen und administrativen Aufgaben, z.B. bei der Erstellung von Kostenvoranschlägen oder Bereitstellung von Leih- und Kundengeräten zum Versand.

Das bringen Sie mit

Ihre Qualifikationen

• Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung (oder Bachelor) in einer Ingenieursdisziplin oder einem verwandten Gebiet.

• Praktische Erfahrung in der Wartung oder Konstruktion von elektrischen Anlagen und Maschinen/ Automatisierungsanlagen.

• Gute Kenntnisse der elektrischen und mechanischen Sicherheit.

• Sichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift. (Unternehmenssprache ist Englisch!)

• Erfahrung in der Ermittlung von Ursachen für Anlagenausfälle/ Fehlersuche mit Hilfe strukturierter und umfassender Verfahren.

• Gültiger Führerschein (PKW).

• Gute Kenntnisse im Umgang mit PCs und Windows/DOS-basierten Betriebssystemen.

• Bereitschaft zu häufigen Reisen im In- und Ausland, auch kurzfristig oder gelegentlich an Wochenend- oder Feiertagen.

• Flexibilität zur Übernahme von Bereitschaftsdiensten zur (remote) Fehlerbehebung.

Our Sample Management Solutions (SMS) team is looking to strengthen our Field Service Engineering team.

As a Field Service Engineer , you will provide routine and emergency technical services at customer sites. This includes the installation, upgrading, repair, and preventive maintenance of Azenta equipment and systems.

You will have the opportunity to work with advanced technologies, particularly in low-temperature environments, such as automated storage systems, transport robots, and more. In addition, you will be responsible for a wide range of industrial and life sciences equipment, including automation systems and consumables, liquid nitrogen storage systems, ultra-low temperature freezers, and dehumidification systems.

Your Responsibilities

• Resolve customer issues and meet service-level agreements at customer sites throughout Germany and across Europe.
• Perform maintenance on equipment and systems, including software and hardware installation, upgrades, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Analyze problems, investigate and report root causes and corrective actions, and monitor system performance.
• Provide operational support for customer-managed samples (e.g., assisting with sample storage and transitions from manual to automated systems).
• Communicate and collaborate with global teams to complete assigned tasks.
• Prepare and submit reports, such as service reports and status updates.
• Occasionally respond to emergency equipment or production line failures and escalation situations.
• Maintain loaner equipment.
• Support organizational and administrative tasks, such as preparing quotations and arranging shipment of loaner and customer equipment.

What You Bring

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training (or a Bachelor's degree) in an engineering discipline or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in the maintenance or design of electrical systems, machinery, or automation equipment.
• Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical safety standards.
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken. (English is the company language.)
• Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting equipment failures using structured and comprehensive methodologies.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong PC skills and familiarity with Windows/DOS-based operating systems.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Germany and internationally, including on short notice and occasionally on weekends or public holidays.
• Flexibility to participate in on-call support for remote troubleshooting.
