The salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000 and reflects factors such as years of experience, relevant expertise, and overall qualifications.

SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and expand sustainability services across the Americas, beginning with the U.S. The position drives regional and global sustainability initiatives aligned with TÜV Rheinland’s strategy and supports service development for multiple product categories, including textiles, hardgoods, electrical, solar, commercial products, and medical devices. This role is part of the Global Sustainability Team within the Business Stream “Products” and is based in a hybrid capacity in Boxborough, MA.
Business Development (60%)

Lead sustainability business development for materials, products, and packaging across U.S. industries.

Develop growth strategies, service portfolios, and roadmaps.

Support sales teams as a sustainability subject-matter expert.

Partner with Business Fields (Softlines, Hardlines, Electrical, Solar & Commercial, Medical) to define account strategies and targets.

Ensure alignment with global sustainability teams and regional peers.

Identify strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement opportunities.

Represent TÜV Rheinland at sustainability events, conferences, and industry groups.
Project Delivery & Technical Support (40%)

Serve as the primary U.S. technical contact for sustainability services.

Support global development of services such as PCF verifications, LCAs, EPDs, ESPR/Digital Product Passport, and related programs.

Contribute to internal SOP development.

Train technical experts and act as a “train‑the‑trainer” for sales teams.

Monitor sustainability trends and regulatory updates and communicate insights internally and externally.
University Degree in Environmental ScienceMasters in related field of study
Experience & Skills:

Passion for sustainability with broad ESG knowledge.

5+ years in sustainability consulting, business development, or corporate sustainability leadership.

Proven ability to execute strategy and deliver results.

Experience in manufacturing sectors such as electrical, electronic, solar, commercial products, or medical devices preferred.

Knowledge in supply chain transparency tools, circularity, and eco‑efficient product design is beneficial.

Strong communication skills, including writing, presenting, and public speaking.

Customer‑focused mindset with ability to assess sustainability challenges and propose solutions.

Experience managing complex projects and working collaboratively across teams.

Direct management of North America business stream staff.
