About this role

The Tech Stack: our ecosystem is 98% Kotlin-based, with a strong commitment to Jetpack Compose, modular project structures, and Clean Architecture principles.

What will you actually do?

• Technical Strategy Leadership: Lead the architectural direction and execution of sophisticated features, ensuring every component is scalable and production-ready.
• System Architecture: Engineer resilient solutions for intricate challenges such as background location services, offline data sync, and intelligent routing within Android constraints.
• Engineering Excellence Champion: Identify technical debt early, optimize our multi-module framework, and enhance the development lifecycle through CI/CD and automation.
• Team Elevation: Mentor fellow engineers through coaching and rigorous code reviews, fostering a culture of collaborative knowledge exchange.
• Product Influence: Partner with Product Managers and backend guilds to shape the technical roadmap in alignment with long-term organizational objectives.
• Technical Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of features, from defining Microservice API contracts to the final UI implementation.
• Problem Solving: Resolve complex engineering hurdles involving background services, data synchronization, and dynamic pathfinding.
• Operational Growth: Drive peer reviews and assist the team in optimizing build performance and CI/CD efficiency.

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Product Definition: Collaborate with engineering teams and Product Managers in workshops to contribute significantly to defining new product features.
• Technical Ownership: Consistently deliver high-quality software that meets team best practices and expectations.
• Project Management: Take complete ownership of components you develop, managing timelines and transparently communicating progress towards wider team and organizational goals.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Share your progress and ideas with your team, and contribute to the growth of the iOS guild by sharing new development practices, patterns, and standards.
• Inner Source Model Support: As a Trusted Committer, you'll play a vital role in supporting contributing teams to integrate their features into our codebase.

What will you bring to the team?

• Core Competencies: Extensive professional mastery of Kotlin alongside advanced proficiency in Jetpack Compose UI development.
• Architectural Expertise: Comprehensive command of Android structural patterns, including multi-module environments, Dependency Injection, and MVVM principles.
• System Mastery: Expert-level capability in navigating OS-level hurdles such as background service persistence and sophisticated battery optimization strategies.
• Distributed Systems: Demonstrated success interfacing with backend APIs within microservice frameworks, emphasizing the creation of isolated, modular software components.
• Craftsmanship: A dedicated focus on high-quality code design that values operational performance as much as long-term maintainability.
• Technical Leadership: Self-sufficient driver capable of owning the end-to-end execution of vital technical roadmaps within specific workstreams.
• Collaborative Mindset: Enthusiasm for team-based engineering practices, including pair programming, thorough peer reviews, and active mentorship.
• Agility: Thrives in high-velocity, evolving environments where rapid scaling and innovation are the standard.
• Effective Communication: Exceptional verbal and written fluency in the English language.
