We are looking for lab technicians to perform routine quality inspections and support failure analysis processes for our state-of-the-art Tesla battery cell & drive unit manufacturing program. In this role, you will work closely with other lab technicians under the guidance of lab management to conduct material analyses with the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. The work environment is demanding, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting.
What You'll Do
- Perform scans of battery cells using appropriate equipment, followed by thorough quality control, including detailed analysis and documentation of results to ensure compliance with high standards

Conduct quality control of battery cells by evaluating images generated through computed tomography (CT), identifying anomalies and ensuring structural integrity

Carry out mechanical and destructive quality control of battery cells under controlled dry room conditions, evaluating them against an established defect catalog to systematically identify, classify, and address potential issues

Assist in optimizing processes to reduce errors and enhance overall quality, contributing to continuous improvement in battery production efficiency

Document all investigation results in reports and databases, while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., engineers and quality managers) to share insights and drive collective problem-solving
What You'll Bring
- Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification as a laboratory technician, chemical laboratory assistant, physics laboratory assistant, or a comparable field

Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as microscopy using SEM and Digital Microscope; ideally, familiarity with CT scanners or similar imaging methods

Background in battery technology or quality control of high-tech products is advantageous, helping you contribute effectively from day one

Proficiency in managing sensitive materials under specialized conditions (e.g., dry room environments) and a strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols

Analytical abilities, precision, and a keen eye for detail in defect evaluation, ensuring accurate and reliable assessments

Strong team player with reliability in an international environment, plus a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Good proficiency in German (spoken and written); English skills are desirable to facilitate global collaboration
