The design exercise can throw some candidates off. Some good advices - be very authentic to who you are. Note that it really isn't about the design solution you come up with. They are not looking for the right answer, but your thinking process and the way you interact with other design team members.
He asked me what I am doing currently, I explained. Then he asked me if I had experience in graphic work, and I said, yes. Then there was moment of silence and he asked me if I had any more questions. He was not prepared for my arrival, nor was he prepared to ask relevant and meaningful questions. Surprisingly, the interview lasted an hour, only because I drove most of the time. Most ridiculous interview ever.
