Applied through and set up an initial screening through LinkedIn. Lucky for me, my recruiter was AWESOME - she was so kind and really sold TikTok for me. I got a response from a different recruiter the following week about a zoom interview with the manager.
The manager was so rude - maybe its because product managers are known to have less professional communication and leadership skills because they're all techies. He clearly didn't know how to uphold a professional front. After answering every question with a detailed description, he would immediately question me as if he wasn't paying attention to anything I had said for the past 1-2 minutes. "So... your project was successful, right?" "So you're telling me you did this, then that, then this happened". Um.... yes... I didn't even know how to respond to that, but I just replied "Yes!" with a dorky smile lol. Basically, he made me feel incredibly stupid after every answer. If I knew it was going to be like this, I wouldn't have gone into professional mode and just keep the responses simple with a boring tone.
And of course, didn't get a response back. Was so turned off by the way he presented himself that I wouldn't even want to work here. Also learned that I shouldn't even apply to a tech team because they really don't know how to communicate. Probably would've been a different experience if I applied to a different team.
