I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TikTok (California City, CA) in Nov 2025
Interview
Asked about my resume, my projects, questions about architectures that I used. Asked follow-up questions and went in-depth with my projects and mdoels.
Then asked me to code KL divergence, as I had mentioned that I used it in my projects.
This was followed by 2 ml coding questions
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Implement Single head and Multi head attention in pytorch. A follow up to this was use masking to mask out the later-on tokens.
Also asked me to implement KL divergence in python (but maybe this was because I talked about kl-divergence in my projects)
The interview process consisted of multiple rounds including an online assessment, technical phone screens, and virtual onsite interviews. The questions focused on machine learning fundamentals, coding challenges, and system design. The recruiters were responsive and kept me updated throughout the entire process.
Asked heavily about my resume, mainly focused on the projects I did that had overlapped areas with the team. Did an easy coding question on calculating a ML metric and asked about how to optimize the solution.
