I attended an interview process that lasted nearly four hours, which felt unnecessarily long and disjointed for the role being offered. The session started with a group interview of around 20 people, resembling more of a university tutorial than a professional recruitment experience. We were asked to complete multiple stages including a group activity, a written assessment, and a one-on-one interview — all in a single sitting.
Despite being told we’d hear back within a week, I never received any follow-up and had to reach out myself, only to then be informed I was unsuccessful. The entire process felt poorly communicated and not respectful of candidates' time — especially considering the role was not particularly senior and offered a relatively modest salary. The location was also quite far (Mascot), which made the experience even more inconvenient.
Overall, I would advise the company to refine and streamline their recruitment approach and ensure they communicate clearly and professionally with all candidates.
