I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Lockheed Martin (Newtown, PA) in Oct 2008
Interview
I got a call from a friend of my father's that said he knew that a job fair was happening at the Sunnyvale plant. Having been out of school and still looking for my first job, I had no other choice but to go. I got to the facility and then stood in lin e with about 3,000 other applicants. Being a new grad, they took some interest in me, and after a month or so, with a lot of leg work on my part, I got mention that there was a little interest in me. The only job that they had avaiable though was in Pennsylvania, not California, but I took what i could get. About a month again passed and then i was flown out to talk one to one with the manager. The interview took about 20 minutes, and then i was given a tour of the plant. To be perfectly honest, I dont think I am all that jazz, so a 20 minute interview was very supprising to me; it said that they already wanted to hire me and had decided that I was good enough. I flew back and waited until just before Christmas to get an offer, saying they wanted me just before the Christmas shutdown. It took many many calls to HR to get anything accomplished and I showed up just after New Year's. All in all, being my first real job, this was very rushed and didnt seem like there was a lot of thought that was put into the process.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lockheed Martin in Nov 2009
Interview
Telephone interview with hiring manager to discuss organizational needs and potential my fit into the organization. Hiring manager attempted to create a new opportunity for me but was rejected by HR and the customer due to budget constraints. Future opportunities remain uncertain due to current uncertainties in the company's current budget and future contract projections.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lockheed Martin in Aug 2008
Interview
23 minute phone interview, where they asked about my background, and whether I had certain skills. Never visited the facility before I took the offer. The described the organization of the project, but it was so complicated without at a minimum a drawing very hard to visualize. After starting I became aware that they had so much attrition that they were backfilling at an incredible rate and taking pretty much anyone who applied. I have talked with the other fresh hires and they hired many people outside of their skillsets.
