I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Dec 2017
Interview
Recruiter, phone interview and onsite.
The phone interview was a shared screen coding interview.
The onsite was a 9 hour panel type interview. The interviews covered a variety of topics from past experiences, debugging, coding and design.
I have successfully interviewed with many companies and their experiences has been great, however, I cannot say the same for Indeed.
Some interviewers did not seem to be interested in the process and were overly hostile. For example, one interviewer had the "self-righteousness" or the "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude. It was a bit uncomfortable, but I managed to get through it.
I didn't feel some have the correct training to conduct interviewers as well. In particular, one interviewer stared at his/her computer the whole time and was a bit hostile once I started asking questions. I wasn't sure whether or not he/she was writing down everything I'm saying or fixing a high severity issue during the interview.
While some interviewers were great, the negative red flags that stood out during some of the interviews outweigh the positives. At the end of the day, I was not sure if I wanted the job if these were the type of people I would be working with.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Indeed in Oct 2017
Interview
First, I submitted my resume via one of my friend, then received a phone call from HR. So he asked me some very general questions about how to finish a project, how will I work with other people, and why joining Indeed.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe to me one of your experience of how did you accomplish a project. Why joining Indeed?
phone interview followed by an onsite interview. The interviewer is the rudest interviewer I've ever met. No greetings and no eye contact, and did not answer my questions after the technical problem. She didn't even do a correct time complexity analysis of the problem (and I was very surprised). She is very cold, and made the interview experience a very unpleasant one.
