Applied on line and get 2 phone interviews. first one is general with HR discussing previous work experience. 2nd one is technical... with 2 technical personnel and technical scenarios given and was asked how to solve them.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Jan 2017
Interview
Very thorough and relatively quick but extremely nontransparent.
The interviews are done over a phone and they ask you to make sure there is a good reception for a cell phone which is not always possible. Not having a face to face interview at least over Skype or similar makes it almost impossible to do your best as you cannot see your interviewers.
Time scheduling is complicated and erroneous as it involves email communications with multiple seemingly disconnected Amazon employees from multiple departments.
Feedback is not informative and may be delayed or completely missing.
During the interviews they allow some time for questions but very limited.
They expect you to be aware of Amazon internal processes and protocols while providing very little information about that.

Question 1
1st Telephonic round : Discussion was quite healthy and fiished with a good closure.
2nd Round Management : Mainly on leadership and manaement practices like decision making , motivation practices etc..
3rd Round Technical : Unfortunatly wasn't my day ... 2 guys joined the discussion and asked to design a online book shop ... But they were not at all looking intersted to listen what are you saying... 1 of the guy was so busy in his laptop as if he is the only guy in amazon who works... common it was saturday and your main job was to focus on interview... that made me little annoyed... and on top of that he said he is in hurry do timiboxing few minutes blah blah blah... I really wonder can anybody in this whole world think about all the use cases of book store in few minutes... may be some extra ordenray person who are already in amazon ...like the guy who was interviwing :-) ... he only might have written the whole script of amazon...
So conclusion here is if you are there for an interview please focus on the person who is standing before you leave your laptop aside... respect the time he has spared for you interview... he is also an employee in some company and may be doing much much better than what you are doing....
Analyze his previous history of work and take your time to think yes indeed it is possible that he might not have worked in some areas either due to his own interest or just the matter of time.
