I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon (Toronto, ON)
Interview
HR call to present the position. That was followed by a one hour phone interview, and a virtual on site with 5 people, each covering some leadership principles and additional management and technical questions.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to make a strategic decision without complete information.
Interview process was about as expected for an organization as large as Amazon. Maneuvering through the chain of recruiters and screeners took time, of course. The interview itself struck me as a bit brief/terse. Lots of behavioral interviewing questions, little attempt to connect the dots between them.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you faced an especially difficult problem to solve and how you overcame it.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
A recruiter contacted me and we had a good phone discussion. Then I had my first telephonic interview with someone who was in a similar role. It was a very positive experience.
Then they invited me to a second telephonic interview again with someone in a similar role. This interview did not go so well. The interviewer asked me how to pronounce my name and still continued to mispronounce my name. Not a big deal, but just proves that he was not at all paying attention to what I was saying. Through out the interview it almost sounded like:
Me - I was doing yoga
Interviewer - oh, so you were drinking coffee and then what happened
Me - No I was doing yoga
Interviewer - so you were not drinking coffee and you were working out. How fast were you running?
Me - No I was not running, I was doing yoga.
It was a very frustrating experience. I think the interviewer was sleepy and was not interested in the conversation. Usually, as a courtesy the interviewer lets you ask questions at the end. But this person at the end said, "it was nice speaking to you" and ended the conversation.
Anyways, in spite of a descent interview, the disengagement of the interviewer costed my interview. The reason I am giving neutral is because I had a good and a bad experience.
It would be nice for Amazon to review these interviews as some of us spend serious time preparing for these interviews and if it goes like this then it becomes very disheartening.

Question 1
General team management interview. They went a bit deep in the technology that I was using and how I designed it. It was not difficult as I built the system and I knew inside out.
